Serving Detroit since 1966

Coneys the way Detroit has loved them for sixty years.

Steamed buns, beanless beef chili, yellow mustard and diced onions — the original recipe, still made by the family that started it on a downtown corner in 1966.

The original — two coneys, chili, mustard, onions.

Sixty years on the same corner.

In 1966, Benny Petroski set a steam table and a pot of chili on a downtown Woodward corner and never looked back. Same family, same recipe, same city block — through every Detroit high and low. The coneys are still steamed, the chili still simmers fresh every morning, and the stools still fill up at lunch.
